who am i?



so im kicking my case of SADS, as the snow melts and the sun comes out, so do i and so does my camera. went for a stroll the other day and was accompanied by two lovely models whom i took advantage of. it as been awhile since ive posted, i hope you like these.

SLACK!

I have been the biggest slacker these past two months. I haven't taken a photo I haven't done anything.

Work is really taking up my time, we're in the midst of a sale (which never happens) and I am in the middle of my major buying season for snow and fall of next year, which is a new thing and while I am loving it, it is different and im finding it challenging.

On a good note, although I may not of been actively taking photos lately I have been actively making efforts to other things related. I have been accepted to the University of Guelph Humber media studies program in the photography stream. I will be starting in Sept 08. It is a four year program but I graduate with a honors degree in media studies and a diploma in creative photography. I am so excited. Oh ya, as a mandatory part of the program I have to buy a new camera, which is the Nikon D300(sick!!).....student loan here we come.

Its been awhile so a little update post for those of you who still look. Photos will return soon enough.

Whipper Snapper

After work this evening I went home got changed and then headed on down to Toronto to the whipper snapper gallery where several photographers were showing their work. One inperticular was Sam Javanrouh, the the man behind the award winning photoblog Daily Dose of Imagery or ddoi at wvs.topleftpixel.com (that's right it does say wvs not www, it's sam backwards and upside down). Nobody wanted to go with me, they all had something far better or more important to do so it's ok. I had to go by myself, got in grab myself a beer and cruised around the room loosing myself in the pictures for a go couple mins each. Eventually i went to buy a book which he was all out of so i have to wait and email him, but i got to meet him shake his hand and talk briefly with the man you inspired me to start photography and well as strange as it is changed my life i would be doing what im doing or going the direction i am going if it weren't for him and his website. After that i left and met up with emily and kris and her friend megan. went for a drink or two and then i went home, and here i am. Amazing nite, landmark, milestone whatever u wish to call it, tonigt was one of them. Oh ya, bottom picture, tan jacket....guess who?

I need to save money for school and my car is giving me more hassle than its worth so it is on the market. if i haven;t sold it by november 10th it's being junked so i am very generous when it comes to OBO cause i do really love this car i just cant offered to love it any more. Engine still awesome, never a problem. Has a gas leak in the back, new brakes 6 months ago. 260 000km. $475.....400? lets talk. andrew on the roof, to the left is a roof top pool that seconds after i took this we were still a little goofy from the nite before so we decided to jump in and go for a swim in our boxers and air dry over looking the city on the roof. so sweet

rogers finally got their act together and hooked up t & a's cable, internet & phone after having internet and phone, getting the cable hooked up and loosing the phone and net, then because they'd much rather have net then cable, getting the phone hooked back up only for nothing to work, and then 2 weeks for them to come back and hook everything up properly. so this in celebration of that.

Wedding Footwear

vange and i both choose unique footwear for jen and jay's wedding. vange went out and got her self a pedicure, while i had to venture down to the city days before to get a nice fresh clean pair of converse to wear in jay's honour. he wanted to wear them but his darling wife wouldn't have it. ps moguls has picked up converse and it will be in the store starting in spring 2008. now u don't have to go to the city to get the classic canvas shoe that turns 100 years old next year, timeless.

wearing the cons got me quite a lot of attention at the wedding on more than one occasion i was talking to people and they thought i was some rock star or something along the lines.....is it that obvious?

went for a hike last tuesday or wednesday, watch the sun set and check out the beginning of the fall colours. had a sweet little private party last nite just me tierney and andrew, went on a crazy adventure super sweet. really busy right now getting ready for the skate comp and with work on top of that still. im spending alot more time at home to mantain my sanity and focus with so much going, again.

Dan rides for me at the shop, one of my mini shred army. He's dope and the first of all the guys to get hooked up. He came to me long ago with a short VHS of some flip tricks and some cool manis and slides on parking blocks and stuff. I told i liked what i saw and he had alot of potential, keep working at it and we'll see. A year later, my predictions were correct. boy progressed like no other and stepped it up mad. first one to come on board, he's mad chill and loves skateboarding more than his own life so since this is my blog and im allowed to do what i want, im not posting a picture today, cause i wanna hype my man Dan. here's a short clip of a backside flip down the Mormon 6.

taken from a jackastors patio in toronto, brief pit stop for a beer on our journey to retrieve my car which was towed the nite before on labour day weekend. kaylea's birthday dinner party was last nite. lots of fun, stephane made it down from guelph, emily also made it down from the city. good times had by all, delicious food professional prepared by our resident gourmet chef andrew. i was sick all day yesterday but took it easy and rested all day and by the second course i was still a little tender but was able to party and enjoyed the food with out it comeing back up.

all up this day couldn;t not of gone any better, jen flying in to the reception in her dads plane, a beautiful meal which slowly after many drinks and lots of dancing dwindle down to a private little party of close friends as the bar tenders just left the bar open and the DJ kept spinning we enjoyed ourselves till the we hours of the morning. congratulations guys you are the best!

thoughts returning to snowy nites.

so my life has finally slowed down....just. my friends have journeyed back to sask. just in time for hansom mike's birthday, happy birthday my friend i miss u already. virgin fest was amazing i finally saw my favorite band in existence, explosions in the sky. at some point (meaning the whole concert) i got so overwhelmed by everything; just the fact that i was finally watching them, i was with my brother who is newly 19 and we were having a blast, jen and jay's wedding was the nite before and it couldn't of been more perfect, that i lost it a one point and just had to go chill under a tree by myself for it bit. kinda crazy. saw girl talk on wed with emily which was the biggest wildest and wettest (sweat you dirty kids) dance party ive ever been to. so much fun to much fun. thus ive reorganizing some things, tidying up and just getting stuff in order. getting some sleep and regaining some clarity and focus in all aspects of life. things are good. and im able to acutully relax which is even more important than chilling, time to read a book again and shit. it was needed.
